About The Position

The United States Coast Guard Elizabeth City's mission is to ensure public safety, safe waterways, and security response, and support the overall mission of the Department of Homeland Security and its war on terrorism. This position is essential to provide CAC/DEERS/RAPID services on base and for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the CAC station.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' work experience working in an office setting.
  • Experience with office administrative skills and abilities.
  • Experience with various office automation systems, software applications, and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Open CAC Card office daily and prepare for card distribution.
  • Maintaining records of all badges and their status.
  • Input of daily records in the computer for all authorized visitors.
  • Maintains visitor control and verification processes.
  • Troubleshooting customer accounts.
  • Implement daily security protocols for the RAPIDS office, including locking sensitive data.
  • Local point of contact for RAPIDS and DEERS for personnel.
  • Coordinate DEERS record corrections with appropriate entities.
  • Maintain ID card appointment calendar.
  • Inventory cards for shipment.
  • Managed RAPIDS inventory
  • Ensure integrity of all personal information is maintained involving the issuance of DoD's Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Conduct routine maintenance of RAPIDS equipment.
  • Account for card stock and recommend reordering as necessary.
  • Become familiar and knowledgeable with Commandant Instruction M5512.1A, Identification Cards for Members of the Uniformed Services, Their Eligible Family Members, and Other Eligible Personnel.
  • Maintain files and records.
  • Weekly generate routine reports from the RAPIDS system.
  • Update the DEERS/RAPIDS web page.
  • Assist with campus security and access control procedures.
  • Assist the Security Clerk as needed.
  • Other duties, tasks, and projects, as assigned.
