The Class C Lineman Transmission is an entry level lineman position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. This role requires working at various locations and may involve travel to other states based on customer demands. Key responsibilities include safely performing work on energized and de-energized transmission systems, stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, and maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools. The position demands working outdoors, often in inclement weather, and performing rigorous physical labor. The successful candidate will be expected to learn and understand transmission voltages, induced voltage, pole setting techniques, blueprints, structural problem identification, operation of aerial devices, troubleshooting, wire stringing and sagging techniques, tower assembly, working from aerial ladders, framing line structures, and installing compression connections. The role also involves working at heights and/or in confined spaces, proper use and inspection of PPE, climbing various structures, understanding lineman knots, hand line usage, grounding procedures, equipment setup, use of Kellum grips, material identification, minimum approach distance, flag and tag procedures, and basic bucket rescue/escape.
