About The Position

Position Purpose: The Commercial Banker is a member of the Bank of Clarke team. This position will provide support to the Bank’s C&I clients. What you’ll do: Services C&I seeking loan and/or deposit relationships with the Bank, interviews applicants to develop information concerning their business and requirements, evaluates credit information and makes relationship recommendations. Maximizes the C&I Banking Team’s profitability through the maintenance of a high-quality loan portfolio. Follows current loans to ensure conformity with terms; maintains current and complete credit file. Participates in formal call program to develop new loan, deposit and fee-based business. Follows market trends and developments to increase the Bank’s business in established and developing markets. Represents the Bank in civic and community activities. Adheres to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Bank of Clarke’s loan policy and regulatory standards. Promotes and environment that supports diversity and reflects the Bank of Clarke brand. Completes other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (four years of relevant experience)
• Financial analysis expertise with strong knowledge of credit principles
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to interact diplomatically at all organizational levels
• Proven ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients
• Strong self-motivation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Five to seven years of credit experience preferred
• Sales experience
• General knowledge of banking and commercial fee-based products
• Applied knowledge of bank policies and procedures
