About The Position

We are a custom metal parts manufacturer specializing in high-complexity, low-volume production with a massive library of unique SKUs.

This is not a passive purchasing role.

You own purchasing for raw materials and hardware - ensuring machinists have exactly what they need—when they need it—without overextending inventory.

You will track orders, call suppliers, escalate issues, and keep production running.

Requirements

• 2+ years Buyer / Purchasing Agent experience (manufacturing)
• Hands-on ERP experience (PO creation and order management)
• Strong ERP / MRP experience (Baan, Epicor, JobBOSS, etc.)
• Proven ability managing suppliers, delays, and escalations
• Comfortable in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong Excel (VLOOKUP, pivots, tracking)
• Confident on the phone—you don’t wait, you act

Nice To Haves

• Experience purchasing raw materials (steel, aluminum, specialty alloys)
• CAPEX purchasing exposure
• High-mix / low-volume or job shop environment experience
• Familiarity with MRP and inventory management

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders (ERP – Baan or similar)
• Track open orders, delivery dates, and supplier commitments
• Reprice and validate supplier pricing
• Escalate late or missed shipments (phone-first communication)
• Manage high-SKU inventory (avoid shortages and excess)
• Support CAPEX and critical orders
• Provide delivery updates to leadership
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations
