Requirements

  • Must be organized, detail oriented and also have strong communication and delegation skills.
  • Ability to consult and champion change management programs for productive service.
  • Experience in contract negotiations.
  • Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Customer centric.
  • Proactive and flexible.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently requires working long hours.
  • Must have excellent PC skills including excel and power point experience.
  • Shorthand experience a plus.
  • Ability to create, read and analyze spread sheets of statistical data.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and effectively formulate and communicate ideas.
  • Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Associate’s Degree in related field
  • Three (3) years’ related work experience

  • Shorthand experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all company purchasing policies and procedures and the New York Lottery regulations.
  • Responsible for obtaining competitive bids on all goods and services submitted on approved purchase requisitions.
  • Recommends vendors and places the order with selected vendor in accordance with company policy.
  • Communicates the status of any order pending with respective departments.
  • Ensures purchasing and vendor licensing is conducted in accordance with New York Lottery regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with departments on purchasing issues and compliance with company purchasing policy.
  • Demonstrates and provides outstanding customer and employee relations at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in preparing and obtaining quotations, processing requisitions and issuing purchase orders.
  • Reviews bid proposals.
  • Keeps informed and evaluates new products available on the market and market conditions that would affect present and future purchases.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
  • Assists in preparation of department budget.
  • Recommends procedures for department.
  • Attends periodic meetings and training sessions.
