Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. required
  • 10+ years Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or in a similar role, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership position. required
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and documenting complex business processes, requirements, and system specifications. required
  • Experience with software development lifecycles, project management methodologies, and testing/QA processes. required
  • Proven experience in conducting feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and creating business cases. required

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership to a team of IT business systems analysts, fostering a culture of team and personal development, collaboration, excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Mentor and develop team members, offering guidance and support to enhance their professional growth and performance in their role as BSA’s and all the associated skills. Strategically allocate resources to maximize team productivity and ensure the successful execution of projects. Conduct regular performance reviews, deliver constructive feedback and implement development plans to drive team success and advance individual team members skills and capabilities as BSA’s
  • Advanced Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Oversee the analysis of complex business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and automation. Guide the team in the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business and system requirements using advanced techniques such as detailed interviews, workshops and big room planning sessions, surveys, and analysis of existing systems. Ensure high-level business requirements are translated into detailed functional and technical specifications for IT solutions. Oversee the use of advanced tools such as process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and business process modeling notation (BPMN) to represent and analyze processes.
  • Solution Design and Development: Work closely with IT developers, architects, and senior stakeholders to design IT solutions that meet business requirements and strategic goals. Supervise the development of comprehensive use cases, user stories, and process diagrams to guide the development and implementation of IT systems. Ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Lead design reviews and provide input on potential improvements and optimizations
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test plans to ensure IT solutions meet specified requirements and quality standards. Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders to validate the functionality and performance of IT solutions. Ensure defects and issues are documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner. Ensure test cases comprehensively cover all functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Implementation and Support: Lead the implementation and deployment of IT solutions, including system configuration, data migration, and user training. Ensure smooth transition and adoption of new systems and processes, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting. Oversee the development and maintenance of user documentation, training materials, and system procedures to support end-users.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders to understand their needs and to ensure that business requirements for IT initiatives are accurately captured and aligned with strategic goals, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams to ensure mutual understanding and alignment. Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update stakeholders on project progress, issues, and solutions. Gather feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into project plans and future enhancements.
  • Advanced Business Analysis: Oversee advanced gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current processes and desired outcomes. Supervise feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and the creation of business cases to evaluate potential solutions and their impact on business operations. Analyze and interpret complex data to support decision-making and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement. Develop business cases and justification documents for proposed projects and initiatives
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the performance of IT systems and processes, identifying areas for continuous improvement. Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in business systems analysis and IT, ensuring the team applies these insights to enhance project outcomes and recommend innovative solutions aligned with our technology stack. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance business operations and IT service delivery. Identify and implement best practices for business analysis and systems improvement to drive operational efficiency inside the team as well as to our stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Assess the current skill levels of team members and identify gaps or areas for improvement related to business systems analysis, technology trends, and organizational needs. Create and implement structured training plans, including both internal and external learning opportunities, to ensure the team remains proficient in the latest tools, methodologies, and best practices. Encourage a culture of continuous learning by supporting certifications, attending workshops, and participating in industry conferences. Organize regular knowledge-sharing sessions, lunch-and-learns, and peer-led workshops to disseminate new insights and reinforce critical BSA skills. Monitor and evaluate the impact of training initiatives on team performance and adjust programs as needed to maximize value.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior business and IT management, detailing project status, progress, and key metrics. Ensure accurate documentation of requirements and technical specifications, design specifications, test plans, and training materials. Develop and maintain a repository of business processes, requirements, and IT documentation to support ongoing projects and future initiatives.
