About The Position

This position oversees the law department’s technology portfolio, architectural roadmap, software vendors, and IT‑managed services. It also partners with key stakeholders across Sempra’s IT organization. The role plays a key part in advancing the law department’s use of artificial intelligence by helping attorneys enable legal‑specific use cases. It shapes strategic requirements for enterprise‑level initiatives and advises on best practices for solution design. It also influences technology decisions that drive innovation and long‑term business value.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a 4-year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 10 years of related experience.
  • Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
  • Requirements Management - The process of documenting, analyzing, tracing, prioritizing and agreeing on requirements and then controlling change and communicating to relevant stakeholders.
  • Systems Integration - Links together various IT systems, services and/or software to enable all of them to work functionally together.
  • Software Application Design - Planning and creating a software solution to address specific business needs.
  • Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
  • Data Modeling - The process of analyzing and defining all the different data types of your business collects and produces, as well as the relationships between those bits of data.
  • IT Configuration Management - The process of tracking and controlling changes in the software configuration, including revision control and the establishment of baselines.
  • Database Design - A collection of processes that facilitate the designing, development, implementation and maintenance of enterprise data management systems.
  • Database Administration - Creating new or updating existing databases based on data collection needs.
  • Project/Program Management - The process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
  • Technology Integration - The approach that companies use to choose and refine the technologies employed in a new product, process, or service.

Responsibilities

  • Transforms complex business strategies into comprehensive architecture requirements that span multiple platforms.
  • Advises on establishing requirements management standards, methodologies, and best practices that enhance project delivery quality and consistency.
  • Influences stakeholders on strategic technology investment decisions through compelling business cases and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Architects sophisticated solutions that seamlessly integrate multiple systems, business units, and external partners while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Drives continuous improvement of business analysis methodology and deliverables through implementation of industry innovations and lessons learned.
  • Mitigates significant risks associated with complex system implementations through proactive identification, analysis, and development of effective contingency plans.
  • Synthesizes industry trends, competitive analysis, and emerging technologies to inform long-term systems strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
