About The Position

Works closely with Professor Kourmoulis on a variety of tasks related to the sport management program. Assists with content creation and posting on sport management Instagram and LinkedIn. Collaborates on experiential learning trips and event planning for the program. Aids in grading low-stakes assignments for Sport Management classes. Providing outstanding service to various groups related to the sport management program (students, clubs, faculty, alumni, outside connections, etc.) Providing day-to-day administrative and office support for Sport Management. Communicating effectively as directed via telephone, email, and in face-to-face settings. Completing a diverse set of tasks designed to develop and strengthen knowledge and skills related to employment in a professional environment. Demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Performing other duties as assigned. Ability and endurance necessary to work the hours needed to complete the job. Attendance at all mandatory meetings. Regular attendance. Must be able to work during the day. Hours are flexible around class and practice schedules, but all hours will be worked between the business department's office hours: 8 am - 5 pm. Critical Thinking in the form of analyzing and evaluating program needs to assist in planning experiential learning trips and events, as well as grading low-stakes assignments, ensuring fairness and accuracy. Global Literacy displayed by understanding diverse perspectives and global connections through program initiatives and collaborative activities, fostering inclusivity in sport management projects. Leadership through managing assigned projects, coordinating event logistics, and contributing to team success while upholding the integrity and professionalism of the sport management program. Requirements

  • MUST be a current Covenant College student.
  • Competent with email, Google Sheets, and Google Docs.
  • Self-motivated and responsible for completing work on time.
  • Reliable, dependable, trustworthy.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Must be able to work during the day.
  • Ability and endurance necessary to work the hours needed to complete the job.
  • Sitting: Remaining in the seated position
  • Standing: Ability to stand for extended periods of time at sporting events or other activities.
  • Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 25-50 lbs.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Nice To Haves

  • Student should be familiar with and ideally pursuing a career in the sports industry.
  • Familiarity with social media, graphics, and video is preferred.
  • Sport Management Major or Minor, at least have taken SPM 205
