About The Position

This position is responsible for strengthening and supporting partnerships with Tax Collectors and other government and private organizations partnering with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. This position is also responsible for strengthening the integrity of the driver license and motor vehicle issuance process through quality assurance, monitoring, compliance and support activities. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying potential weaknesses, recommending changes and enhancements, and working with management to resolve potential issues.

  • Skill in utilizing problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

  • Skill in composing and drafting correspondence.
  • Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and Driver License laws and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Online Registration and Identity Operating Network (ORION) and Florida Real-Time Vehicle Information System (FRVIS).
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks.
  • A valid driver license is required for this position. The incumbent will be required to operate a state- owned vehicle.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing. This means there can be no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations for a minimum of three years prior to employment and for the duration of employment. There can be no more than three chargeable crashes or any violation of Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, during any consecutive three-year period prior to and throughout employment.
  • Travel will be required for this position.
  • This position may require the selected applicant to work alternate hours or days based upon agency needs.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience interpreting and applying motor vehicle and driver license rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience using ORION and/or FRVIS
  • Experience working with or in a Tax Collector's Office.
