About The Position

The Business Relationship Manager drives commercial loan portfolio growth. Duties: Develop a pipeline for lending opportunities through proactive business development and the creation of a center of influence to generate new business leads in the community. Partner with other members of the Bank’s sales staff to create cross-selling opportunities and expand business relationships. Meet with clients and prospects to provide lending solutions that are mutually beneficial to clients and the Bank. Gather financial and credit information, financial statements, etc. and submit loan requests to credit underwriting for review. Manage commercial loan portfolio including monitoring relationships, past dues and maturing loans. Participate in community organizations and activities to enhance Bank of Oak Ridge’s presence in the local community. Comply with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering federal regulations and guidelines, internal bank policies, and complete annual training requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of HS diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 8-10 years of experience in commercial lending and portfolio management at a bank or financial institution required.
  • Must have strong sales acumen, strong negotiation skills, ability to generate leads and demonstrated success in closing deals.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking rules and regulations with experience making quality lending decisions.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex financial statements in order to establish credit worthiness and structure loans appropriately.
