About The Position

The Business Insurance Business Analytics teams at Travelers leverage descriptive and diagnostic analytics and business knowledge to identify actionable insights and influence strategy. As a Consultant, Business Performance Analytics, you will use data and analytics to conduct analyses to quantify insights, identify opportunities and communicate business results to the Business Insurance Business Process Management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or one year of equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Economics, Business, or related.
  • Two years of analytics or related experience working in the P&C industry.
  • Exposure and some working knowledge of business intelligence tools.
  • Developing understanding of business functions, operations, analytic functions and/or product of supported business line.
  • Knowledge of descriptive analytic processes, including data quality, data reporting, and data retrieval.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present technical data and trends.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with business partners.
  • Analytical mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Use descriptive and diagnostic analysis to identify business trends.
  • Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis and create presentations using data visualization and storytelling to communicate business results.
  • Monitor data to recognize patterns and identify possible trends.
  • Support Proofs of Concept to inform business strategies.
  • Work with data towards the ultimate design required to meet business requests.
  • Monitor business results to determine if desired results are achieved, with guidance.
  • Complete reasonability and validation tests with direction.
  • May participate on projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
