About The Position

Harborview Medical Center's Eye Institute is seeking a full-time Business Operations Supervisor. The UW Medicine Eye Institute, located in Seattle, provides advanced medical and surgical eye care for a wide range of conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, diseases of the retina, cornea, orbit and nerves, and age-related eye diseases. It also performs refractive procedures such as LASIK and oculofacial plastic surgery. The institute includes Eyes on James, a full-service optical shop. This role is responsible for organizing and independently coordinating the administrative and revenue cycle operations of the assigned clinics. The supervisor will optimize clinic support service workflow, provide oversight and direction to office staff, make independent judgments regarding patient problems, perform project management for workflow improvements, assist in quality assurance, and handle hiring and disciplinary processes in conjunction with the health service Manager, actively participating as a leader in the clinic management team.

Requirements

  • At least 2 year’s leadership experience in health care program management
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Administration, Public Health, or Public Administration preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and independently coordinating the administrative operations and revenue cycle operations of the assigned clinics
  • Accountable for the optimization of the clinic support service workflow
  • Providing oversight and direction to the office staff by ensuring efficiency in practice management, financial, and support services of the clinic
  • Making independent judgements/decisions and taking action regarding a wide range of routine and complex patient problems and situations
  • Performing project management duties for the clinic – leading and overseeing improvement processes and projects related to workflow improvement in terms of efficiency and/or effectiveness in supporting the clinic’s strategic goals as well as UW Medicine’s Pillar Goals
  • Assisting in formulating strategies for monitoring and assuring quality and quality improvement
  • Responsible for hiring and disciplinary processes in conjunction with the health service Manager and actively participating as a leader in the clinic management team and AACS division
