About The Position

The Business Operations Intern supports the overall effectiveness of restaurant operations by assisting with operational reporting, process documentation, and cross‑functional initiatives. This role provides hands‑on exposure to both corporate and in‑restaurant environments, helping analyze performance data, review food safety and brand‑standard compliance, and translate field insights into practical operational improvements. The intern will also contribute to training material updates, guest experience monitoring, and administrative project support to help ensure consistent execution and a strong guest experience across all locations.

  • Education & Experience
  • Rising junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field; interest in restaurant operations, hospitality, or multi-unit management
  • Applicants must be able to commit to a full‑time, in‑office schedule for the 10‑week summer internship program.

Responsibilities

  • Restaurant Operations Support (Corporate‑Based)
  • Analyze weekly performance data, including sales, labor, food cost, and guest metrics, to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Prepare operational summaries, dashboards, and KPI tracking for leadership
  • Review and help interpret food safety audit metrics and connect findings to operational performance
  • Update SOPs, manuals, playbooks, and assist with new store opening documentation
  • Support cross‑functional initiatives involving HR, Marketing, FSQA, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment on product rollouts, SOP updates, and operational standards
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and project progress across teams
  • Field Restaurant Support (In‑Restaurant Exposure)
  • Conduct on‑site assessments of cleanliness, food safety, and brand standards alongside Operations Managers
  • Complete FSQA checklist tasks, including temperature checks, labeling reviews, sanitation setup, and hygiene observations
  • Observe restaurant workflows to identify inefficiencies and operational risks
  • Document field findings and help translate insights into actionable corporate recommendations
  • Support new store openings, remodels, rebrands, and menu or system rollouts by ensuring materials, signage, and standards are met
  • Training & Team Development Support
  • Organize and update training materials, including FSQA modules (allergen awareness, cleaning, sanitation, etc.)
  • Assist with tracking training program rollouts and gathering feedback from restaurant teams
  • Shadow managers and the Food Safety team to understand training needs and execution gaps
  • Document common challenges, performance gaps, and the impact of food safety coaching
  • Guest Experience & Brand Standards
  • Review guest feedback from surveys and online reviews, categorize themes, and flag recurring issues
  • Monitor brand standards related to signage, uniforms, and merchandising, identifying unclear or impractical expectations
  • Support alignment between operations, FSQA, and brand standards with an emphasis on cleanliness, hygiene, and organization
  • Administrative & Project Support
  • Track action items from Operations and FSQA meetings and ensure follow‑through on corrective actions
  • Maintain shared project trackers and documentation
  • Prepare agendas, meeting notes, and internal FSQA communications for restaurant teams
  • General Intern Program Responsibilities
  • Complete a capstone project focused on the assigned discipline and present findings to stakeholders during the final week of the program
  • Perform additional administrative and project‑based duties as assigned
