About The Position

The Business Office Manager supports facility operations by maintaining business office systems and supervising staff. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the business office and providing administrative support to the facility. Requirements

  • Proven experience in a business office management role, preferably within a healthcare or rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Medi-Cal and Medicaid processes and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Authorization Management: Obtain managed care and Medi-Cal or Medicaid authorizations, including bedholds.
  • Trust Fund Oversight: Assist in managing the resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise business office staff, including implementing appropriate disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Census Management: Maintain census reports and track status changes.
  • Meeting Participation: Attend stand-up meetings as requested by the Administrator.
  • Application Support: Assist residents with Medi-Cal or Medicaid applications.
  • TARS Preparation: Prepare Treatment Authorization Requests (TARS) as needed.
  • Redetermination Tracking: Monitor Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations.
  • Billing Participation: Participate in billing and payment processes, including preparing bank deposits.
  • Collections Management: Undertake collection activities for bad debts.
  • Operational Oversight: Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
