In this critical role, you will be the financial heartbeat of our facility, responsible for the overall health of the business office, revenue cycle management, and the strategic oversight of accounts receivable. As the Business Office Manager, you are the vital link between our residents, their families, and insurance providers. You will ensure that claims are processed accurately while providing compassionate and professional communication regarding financial status and billing inquiries.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record in medical billing/collection practices and a deep understanding of medical coding and office procedures.
  • Insurance Savvy: Solid expertise in medical insurance verification and the ability to navigate complex provider requirements.
  • Professionalism: Exceptional phone etiquette and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with residents, staff, and the public.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in standard office software and medical billing systems; highly organized with a relentless focus on detail.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Revenue Cycle Excellence: Prepare and submit clean claims (electronic and paper) to various insurance companies. Evaluate patient financial status, establish payment plans, and proactively resolve billing complaints.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Lead month-end close processes, participate in monthly QAPI audits, and manage resident trust accounts in strict accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Insurance & Medicaid Oversight: Monitor Medicaid LOCD and Medicare notices. Ensure all Medicaid applications are processed with 100% accuracy and clinical compliance.
  • Strategic Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor your general office staff, including Reception, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable personnel.
  • Administrative Integrity: Maintain the strictest confidentiality (HIPAA), process refunds, and ensure all insurance verification and data entry tasks meet Pomeroy's high standards.
