About The Position

Position Overview The Business Manager is responsible for driving sales, distribution, and merchandising of products across retail stores, with the primary objective of increasing sales and meeting manufacturer goals. This role requires the development of a strategic sales plan aligned with manufacturer budgets and targets. The Business Manager will also be responsible for conducting presentations for clients, highlighting upcoming promotions and new product introductions.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of products, policies, and procedures; OR knowledge of techniques, skills, equipment, procedures, and materials.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in business management roles with consumer products or comparable field
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual sales goals and forecasts set by manufacturers and S&K, including volume, distribution, pricing, and fund management.
  • Develop and review tailored sales plans with buyers and potential buyers to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Set and monitor monthly objectives for Territory Managers using Go Spot Check.
  • Collaborate with Territory Managers at the store level twice per month and conduct at least one new item presentation per quarter.
  • Work with the General Manager and Sales Director to create and implement a promotional calendar for the year.
  • Review quarterly sales performance with the Sales Director, ensuring consistent alignment with company goals.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Promotional Information Sheet for each customer.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, clients, distributors, retailers, and buyers regarding product information, including price, packaging, UPC changes, and updates on new, replacement, and discontinued items.
  • Conduct scheduled store audits to ensure planogram compliance and merchandising standards.
  • Keep an updated price list for all manufacturers and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Actively participate in manufacturer and store resets to ensure effective product placement.
  • Meet quarterly with buyers to discuss upcoming promotions and new product launches.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts for both promotional and non-promotional items.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including addressing slow-moving, discontinued, and overstock items.
  • Ensure timely shipment of all new items within three weeks of receipt in the warehouse.
  • Travel is required, must have a valid driver's license.
