We're committed to being a global aviation leader driving innovation, regional growth and prosperity by investing in our employees, customers, airlines, and partners The ACAA’s Business Manager, Air Service Development will report to the Director, Air Service Development, manage existing air service relationships for retention and/or expansion, analyze airport services, aviation issues and trends to formulate marketing activities related to the development of airport passenger and cargo services. Here is how the Business Manager, Air Service Development will help: Maintain solid working relationships with existing carriers, airports, aviation organizations and associations; and local business and related organizations, with a stake in air travel, to increase the use of PIT; Develop and execute account strategies and sales presentations, including a front-facing role in air service recruitment with airlines and industry partners. Lead continued engagement with existing and prospective passenger and cargo airlines, including representing the ACAA at industry events, head office visits, or other correspondence; Develop account management strategies in conjunction with the Air Service Development team for all existing and prospective aviation accounts; Identify industry trends, legislative and economic factors that have potential to disrupt existing air service at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Allegheny County Airport (AGC) to make recommendations for business solutions and/or action plans; Assist in the creation of creative marketing and recruitment strategies and presentations to retain/expand passenger services and air cargo services through data and economic support information; Develop and update marketing materials to promote passenger and air cargo services at PIT; Prepare and implement communication plans to keep customers up to date with developments in the company; Assist in developing airline incentive programs and managing their implementation to increase air service; Prepare presentations, benchmarking and correspondence customized to meet the needs of audience; Maintain database on passenger and cargo carriers, local & regional business contacts and other passenger related industry contacts; Maintain database on cargo carriers, local & national freight forwarders, handlers and other cargo related industry contacts; Engage Pittsburgh and regional air cargo networks through unique programs; Provide support and development to employees through performance management, coaching, training, motivation, and discipline; Perform other related tasks as assigned or required; The successful candidate for the role of Business Manager, Air Service Development will demonstrate the following key competencies needed in our culture: Communication – Able to clearly articulate goals and objectives to the team; Listens for understanding first with peers, superiors, and subordinates; Able to write clear and concise communications Strategic Thinking – Able to problem-solve for short-term (quarterly) challenges to accomplish key goals; Able to develop plans to achieve efficient, on-time results Team Leadership – Leads and anticipates the pace and process of change effectively; Drives talent development as a team and individually; Takes accountability for team results; Recognizes and rewards excellence on the team Customer Centricity– Motivates team to identify new ways to improve customer experience; Identifies systemic improvements that could positively impact customers

Requirements

  • The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.
  • Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of: Domestic and international passenger service and air cargo service industries.
  • Principles, practices and techniques of marketing and salesmanship.
  • Airline economics, cargo statistics, government and airline databases.
  • Ability to: Travel independently both domestically and internationally.
  • Make decisions on strategies for customer engagement
  • Work under tight deadlines.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
  • Use of Salesforce

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, marketing, aviation management, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Five (5) years related experience, 2 years of which must have been at the managerial level or clearly demonstrate management skills; air service development or supply chain management experience a plus.
