About The Position

The Business Management Specialist (BMS) supports the Early Childhood Business Services (ECBS) program by delivering high-quality, results-driven coaching and training to childcare participants across Arizona. This role is responsible for helping participants achieve sustainable business improvements through individualized coaching, targeted training sessions, and strategic support. The BMS builds strong relationships with participants, partners, and internal teams to ensure alignment with program goals and funding requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, early childhood education, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience across one or more of the following areas:
  • Coaching, training, or supervising in early childhood education settings.
  • Budgeting, fiscal management, and childcare business practices.
  • Understanding of ADHS/DES childcare regulations.
  • Applying adult learning principles.
  • Navigating community resources.
  • A valid driver's license and current car insurance
  • A valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card OR must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation for required statewide travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in business administration, early childhood education, or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver impactful business coaching and training that leads to documented, sustainable business improvements for childcare providers participating in the ECBS program. (Daily)
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders to support program goals and meet funding requirements. (Ongoing)
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to build business skills and knowledge of childcare providers and participants across Arizona. (Ongoing)
  • Prepare clear, data-informed reports and presentations to share insights and recommendations with supervisors, team members, and participants. (As Requested)
  • Collaborate with program leadership to develop and implement strategies that support organizational goals. This includes setting team objectives, planning key initiatives, and tracking progress toward measurable outcomes. (As Requested)
  • Conduct market research during business coaching sessions to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights relevant to participant success. (During each coaching session)
  • Demonstrates proficiency in and actively supports the four foundational pillars of the ECBS program: automation, the Iron Triangle, individualized coaching and consulting, and the application of vetted policies and procedures. (Ongoing)
  • Fulfills mandated reporter responsibilities by promptly responding to incidents, notifying Program Supervisor, and completing documentation in accordance with agency and legal reporting policies.  (As Required)
  • Prepares for and participates in regular, reflective supervision with direct supervisor and proactively seeks guidance and support.
