About The Position

The Business Intelligence Engineer role serves as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Microsoft data and analytics stack with secondary skills in Databricks, and Snowflake. This role is focused on hands-on analytics, reporting, solution design and growing the organization’s self-service analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate has strong Power Platform expertise, enjoys working directly with business partners, and excels at translating business requirements into clear, scalable data solutions that support decision-making.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • 5 years in BI/analytics delivering end-to-end solutions.
  • 5+ years with Power BI, Power Query (M), DAX, and data modeling.
  • 5+ years with SQL, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataflows administration.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions, and present insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong Python experience for analytics/data science, including Pandas, Sklearn, and Pyspark

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Exposure to enterprise or cloud-based analytics platforms.
  • Familiar with common IT infrastructure concepts and systems
  • Working knowledge: Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Copilot M365/Copilot Studio.
  • Proven ability to build ETL/ELT pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Build and maintain Power BI datasets, dataflows, ETL processes, dashboards, and optimized data models.
  • Administer Dataflows, manage refresh schedules, and resolve performance or dependency issues.
  • Leverage Power Automate and Power Apps for workflow automation and lightweight solutions.
  • Integrate Power Platform tools with Snowflake, Databricks, and SQL-based systems.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Analyze data to deliver trends, insights, and actionable recommendations through effective storytelling.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and continuous improvement across reporting and analytics processes.
