About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our team in our Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Washington D.C. offices. We offer a hybrid work engagement with two days o f remote work, and three days in-office. This position is a vital part of our Business Development team and vision to enhance our organization's ability to win more business and collaborate more closely with clients. The Business Development Specialist will gather, review, and analyze key business metrics to devise strategies for growth, conduct business and client development research on companies and clients to identify opportunities, lead on special projects and initiatives, and prepare responses to pitches and proposal requests This will include analyzing client engagement within client teams, industry teams, and practice groups. They will also help lead in coordination with BD managers and director in the development of strategic plans, legal directory submissions, and event coordination. Experience in supporting corporate practices preferred. Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience working in a marketing or business/client development role within a law firm.
  • 2+ years’ experience communicating findings and plans to stakeholders in the business in a clear and actionable manner.
  • 2+ years’ experience with researching competitive and client data and use of law firm tools such as Foundation, InterAction, Leopard solutions, pitchbook, Bloomberg, and others of the like.
  • 2+ years’ experience tracking sales leads and identifying opportunities using a CRM and other research tools required. The firm currently uses InTapp DealCloud.
  • 13+ years’ experience in drafting pitches and proposals with a keen eye for detail.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated project management, pitch and proposal, and data tracking experience are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in supporting corporate practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business plans to set sales goals in coordination with Business Development supervisor and other key stakeholders
  • Analyze client engagement (e.g., KPIs for marketing and business development activities) and make business development recommendations based on research insights to aid in the execution of the firm’s strategic plan
  • Gather, review, and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools
  • Coordinate and draft pitches and RFP responses, including coordinating between lawyers, business development managers, marketing, and pricing
  • Create reports for supervisor
  • Work concurrently on a variety of projects and requests in an accurate and timely manner with a solutions-oriented approach
  • Support practice and industry events, including drafting invites, tracking attendees, measuring ROI, and formulating and executing follow-up strategies
