About The Position

The Business Development Specialist serves as the supporting role for Millennium Health & Fitness’s growth activities. Working under the direction of the Director of Business Development and the Chief Growth Officers, this position performs the day-to-day research, outreach, and proposal preparation necessary to pursue new business opportunities. This is a hands-on role responsible for finding solicitations, initiating contact with potential clients and partners, and producing compliant proposals that reflect MHF’s capabilities and mission. The BD Specialist ensures that the company’s growth strategies are translated into tangible submissions and opportunities in both the government and commercial markets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in government contracting, proposal development, or business development support.
  • Demonstrated success identifying and qualifying opportunities through platforms such as SAM.gov, GovWin, and USASpending.
  • Hands-on experience preparing compliant proposals, responding to RFIs/RFPs, and coordinating with internal stakeholders for submissions.
  • Familiarity with commercial lead generation and outreach activities supporting early-stage business growth.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written communication and document formatting skills, particularly for technical and management proposal content.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF tools.
  • Working knowledge of federal procurement processes and small business programs.
  • Comfortable conducting outreach, follow-ups, and capability briefings with prospective clients and partners.
  • Attention to detail, consistency, and quality in document production and recordkeeping.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Research · Search daily across procurement and bid platforms (SAM.gov, GovWin, USASpending, etc.) to identify open and forecasted opportunities.
  • Review and summarize solicitation requirements, eligibility, and deadlines.
  • Maintain an organized pipeline and tracking sheet for all active and upcoming bids.
  • Provide summaries and recommendations to the CEO and CGOs for go/no-go decisions.
  • Outreach and Lead Generation ·Conduct cold calls, introductory emails, and capability briefings with contracting officers, program managers, and teaming partners.
  • Maintain contact lists and outreach logs in coordination with leadership.
  • Support CGO-led partner initiatives by setting up calls, gathering materials, and following up with prospects.
  • Begin outreach to potential commercial clients and partners under CGO direction.
  • Proposal Preparation ·Draft, edit, and format proposal documents, including technical, management, and past performance sections.
  • Ensure each submission is compliant with all requirements and properly formatted for electronic submission.
  • Coordinate collection of resumes, references, and certifications from internal and partner teams.
  • Manage submission logistics, including uploading, packaging, and responding to follow-up questions.
