About The Position

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at DroneDeploy, you will be the first point of contact for prospects expressing interest in our platform and play a pivotal role in fueling our outbound sales pipeline. Reporting to the Director of Sales Development, you will serve as a key connector between marketing demand generation and sales, ensuring a seamless experience for prospects and internal teams alike. In this role, your primary focus will be outbound connection with target accounts that Demand Generation and Sales have aligned on. You will also prioritize timely follow-up with inbound leads from marketing campaigns, provide actionable feedback on prospect interactions. Your day-to-day will include cold calling, personalized emailing, and social engagement to generate new demand and expand our customer base. Success in this position requires a competitive spirit, a collaborative mindset, and the drive to operate with initiative in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will have the opportunity to shape how DroneDeploy reaches new customers, while also contributing to the ongoing evolution of our sales and marketing processes.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in outbound sales or sales development, ideally within a SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding quota as a BDR or similar role.
  • Proven ability to execute creative, strategic outreach via personalized emails, phone calls, texts, and videos.
  • Proficiency with sales tools such as Salesforce, Gong, LinkedIn/Sales Navigator, and Zoominfo.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, handle objections, and educate prospects in a consultative manner.
  • Self-aware, coachable, and able to implement feedback in real time to overcome challenges.
  • Intellectually curious and eager to bring your unique approach to the BDR role.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly goals for generating qualified opportunities to power the sales pipeline.
  • Maintain outreach activity across multiple channels (calls, emails, live chat, video meetings, LinkedIn messages) to maximize pipeline generation.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to maximize outbound outreach impact through a daily feedback loop on call volume, quality, and prospect feedback.
  • Deliver an exceptional experience to all inbound prospects from both new and existing customer accounts, ensuring leads are engaged and advanced through the qualification process.
  • Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings between Account Executives and decision-makers at prospective or current customer organizations.
  • Partner with Demand Generation to develop account strategies, territory plans, and support the closing of new business opportunities.
  • Proactively share feedback on workflows, sales tools, lead quality, and marketing campaign results to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to refine demand generation processes and implement best practices.
