About The Position

The Salesman / Business Development Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that support Spur Industrial’s continued growth. This role builds strong customer relationships, promotes Spur’s industrial construction and fabrication capabilities, and ensures a seamless transition from sales to project execution.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years of sales or business development experience in industrial construction, fabrication, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of industrial project scopes, drawings, and construction terminology.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship building skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial construction, fabrication, and maintenance services. 95% of time will be spent in the field.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers. A goal of 3-4 new leads per week.
  • Conduct customer visits, site walk downs, and capability presentations.
  • Prepare, deliver, create, and assist in the development of bids and proposals in coordination with Estimating and Operations.
  • Track and follow up on open bids, proposals, and customer inquiries; ensure all bids and proposals are submitted accurately, professionally, and on time.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Coordinate with Estimating to ensure accurate scope definition and competitive pricing.
  • Communicate customer expectations clearly to Project Managers and Operations.
  • Represent Spur Industrial at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Participate in ongoing sales training, product knowledge development, and professional development activities to enhance sales effectiveness.
