Ziegler CAT is seeking an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Business Development Representative to drive growth and create new sales opportunities. In this role, you will collaborate across Ziegler’s EPG division and other business lines to deliver integrated solutions for commercial and industrial customers. A key focus will be building partnerships in markets such as data centers, technology manufacturing, commercial construction, and others in an effort to participate in energy-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial construction and distributed generation solutions, along with proven experience in business development and client relationship management.

  • Drive growth and innovation by identifying opportunities, leading pursuits, and supporting the Ziegler EPG sales team to craft winning proposals.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans, analyze market trends, and identify new opportunities for business growth.
  • Understand industry trends, capturing customer feedback, creating marketing and sales materials, and supporting regional sales teams
  • Generate quality leads through cold calling, social selling, and networking at industry events.
  • Focus on generating new business opportunities for the company
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key clients and vendors in collaboration with other Ziegler sales representatives
  • Work with clients to understand their technical challenges and suggest solutions or improvements.
  • Analyze key markets including data centers, technology manufacturing, and commercial constriction.
  • Document opportunities and win/loss data along with other business activities
  • Ongoing collaboration with all divisions within Ziegler and Caterpillar to develop opportunities across multiple business lines.
  • Conduct sales presentations and demonstrations of Ziegler products or services.
  • Learn about CAT products, allied products and comparisons against competitive products to offer the best solutions based on customer interests and concerns.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent related experience) preferably in an Engineering discipline or business.
  • 3+ years of technical sales or construction industry experience
  • Working knowledge of internal combustion engine installations and drivetrains
  • Analytical skills
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record
  • Electric Power, Electrician, Generator, or Reciprocating Engine experience desired
