About The Position

Role: Responsible for building relationships, identifying opportunities and acquiring new members to grow credit union membership within our community charter. Develop strategies and activities to promote the credit union’s mission, vision, value, products and services to gain new members. Essential Functions & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Coordinates, advises and assists in the business development activities of the credit union. Contact and visit businesses to present information to their employees about financial wellness, credit union products and services to increase membership. Actively ask for business and secure new memberships. Increases visibility and obtains new members by promotion and education of credit union products and services. Plan and participate in community events on behalf of the credit union to discover new network opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders. Compiles detailed and accurate reports related to business development activity. Maintains working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to member services and financial services area to include (but not limited to): USA Patriot ACT, Red Flags, Truth in Savings, Privacy, etc. Develops and maintains strong knowledge of credit union products and services. Serve as a public speaking representative for events of all sizes (up to 200+) representing the Credit Union. Maintain and update the credit union’s customer relationship management tool (CRM) to track visits, follow-ups, and outcomes. Willingness to travel locally and attend events outside of regular business hours as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum one year of marketing/business development experience preferred.
  • A high school education or GED required.
  • Ability to display strong time management and organizational skills.
  • High energy and enthusiasm for the credit union’s mission and vision.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort with public speaking and cold calling on businesses.
  • Proficient with problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work irregular hours as dictated by scheduled events.
  • Ability to work on-site at designated location.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle for job related travel (local & long distance).
  • Ability to speak to groups of all sizes in a professional and precise manner.
  • Ability to communicate with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy and model exemplary member service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must be bondable
