About The Position

We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to help build our sales pipeline by having real conversations and turning them into qualified sales meetings. This role is focused on early-stage sales and outbound prospecting. You’ll qualify inbound and marketing leads, re-engage warm prospects, and run targeted outbound outreach using an account-based approach. A meaningful portion of your work will involve cold calling and follow-up with small business owners, many of them blue-collar operators. If you enjoy talking to people, asking good questions, and opening doors for the sales team, this role will be a strong fit.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with small business owners.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving, small-team setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a BDR, SDR, or in an inside sales role.
  • Experience in the portable buildings industry
  • Prior experience selling to or working with blue-collar, trades, owner-operator businesses, or rural businesses.
  • Experience in Software as a Service.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales engagement tools.
  • Experience setting up or improving sales workflows, tools, or sequences.
  • Previous experience in a startup or small-team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify Leads and Create Sales Opportunities
  • Re-engage warm leads from prior conversations, demos, or campaigns
  • Uncover prospect pain points, decision-makers, urgency, and fit
  • Turn real conversations into well-defined Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs)
  • Book Meetings and Set Up the Sales Team to Win
  • Ensure meetings are properly prepared with notes, context, and clear next steps
  • Confirm meetings and follow up to reduce no-shows (automation encouraged)
  • Hand off clean, well-documented opportunities
  • Outbound Prospecting (A Core Part of the Job)
  • Cold call and prospect small business owners and operators
  • Build and maintain targeted prospect lists within our ideal customer profiles
  • Run outbound outreach across phone, email, SMS, and other channels
  • Personalize outreach based on industry, role, and known challenges
  • CRM and Pipeline Discipline
  • Keep CRM data accurate, complete, and up to date
  • Log calls, emails, notes, and qualification details consistently
  • Follow existing workflows and help improve sequences and processes
  • Ensure lead data is usable for reporting and marketing follow-up
  • Team Collaboration and Feedback
  • Work closely with the Account Executive on qualification standards
  • Share feedback with Marketing on lead quality, messaging, and objections
  • Surface patterns from the field to improve targeting and positioning
