About The Position

Actively participates in the marketing and business development programs of CBTx. Is responsible for accomplishing marketing objectives and sales goals relating to commercial deposits, merchant image capture, ATM merchant sites, credit card merchant services and expanding commercial relationships. Plans and implements solicitation and retention programs to attract and retain profitable deposit accounts from commercial and nonprofit organizations. Plans and leads activities designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for CBTx within assigned market area. Organizes and participates in community outreach and educational programs within designated market area focused on non-profit and community groups serving low to moderate-income communities that achieve CBTx's CRA goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, finance, or related field or equivalent work and educational experience.
  • Three or more years sales and marketing experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, business solutions, sales presentations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language sufficient to create and present effective and grammatically correct marketing and sales proposals.
  • Ability to read and understand procedure manuals relating to job duties and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in computers software applications, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and other marketing and presentation software.
  • Ability to work and timely complete tasks with numerous interruptions and minimal supervision and direction.
  • Ability to negotiate profitable contracts and agreements with merchants and landlords.
  • Ability to organize tasks and write clear instructions and make effective marketing presentations.
  • Ability to accurately perform addition, subtraction, and mathematical calculations.
  • Flexibility in working situations with the ability and willingness to work varying locations, and hours, including evenings and weekends. Individual in this position often works at other branch sites as needed and makes presentations at prospect's business location.
  • Ability and willingness to travel with customer groups on scheduled travel club trips.
  • U.S. Citizen or legally quailed to reside and work in the United States.
  • Over the age of 18 and not disqualified from fidelity bond coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EVP in the mentoring and development of Business Development Officers, establishing goals, training and evaluation processes.
  • Assist in the supervision and development of social and civic employee involvement programs.
  • Assist the EVP in collaboration with the CRA Officer, with the CRA Program.
  • Assists in design and marketing of deposit products and services to ensure customer satisfaction and CBTx profitability within the assigned market area. Recommends upgrades, elimination or future development of under-performing products and services and development or introduction of new products and services to his/her Market President. Assists with market research, customer surveys, and competitive analysis of financial services.
  • Reviews membership lists, database records, newspapers, etc. for business development and marketing prospect leads. Uses multiple communication channels including telephone, email, direct mail, and on site visits to generate and pursue sales leads. Makes retention and business development calls on existing and prospective business and non-profit organization customers. Identifies business needs and recommends ways in which CBTx can satisfy those needs. Refers commercial loans and other services as appropriate. Develops and strengthens relationships through follow-up with potential customers.
  • Provides extensive personalized service to depositors with specific or special banking needs. Provides account and product information and advice, including account resolution suggestions and other information, to assigned customers. Meets with and assists potential customers with paperwork or actions required to complete customer account records or establish new accounts.
  • Develops and maintains business relationships with CBTx business unit managers. Provides leadership and mentoring to other CBTx employees, including sales assistance and training. Networks with peers in CBTx by reviewing records and discussing new accounts. Attends branch sales meetings and communicates marketing information relating to the abilities, features and capabilities CBTx banking applications and services. Assists in the implementation and coordination of a Bank-wide business development call program.
  • Conducts regular sales meetings with branch staff to answer questions, exchange information and resolve problems. Assists Branch Managers with the development of branch sales plans and assists with promotional efforts to meet sales goals. Meets regularly with branch management to coordinate sales and promotional strategies and programs. Arranges meetings between clients or prospective clients and appropriate CBTx representative.
  • Documents sales calls and prepares monthly reports for management regarding results, service satisfaction levels, and market opportunities. Is responsible for the achievement of marketing goals and the retention of profitable commercial customers.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts and favorable working relationships with retail merchants, medical doctors, attorneys, and other professional service providers and referral sources within assigned market area to assure a favorable image of CBTx, to provide information regarding current CBTx deposit and loan products and services, and to obtain marketing referrals.
  • Stays aware of significant life events relating to CBTx customers in assigned market area and coordinates CBTx recognition, cards, and flowers for special events or occasions such as grand openings, ribbon cuttings, weddings, hospitalizations, and funerals.
  • Assists Market President and CBTx's CRA Officer with public relations activities within the market area and CBTx's annual CRA plan and initiatives, and with communicating the Bank's CRA-related programs. Develops, implements and monitors community relations programs within designated area to enhance CBTx's CRA performance through communication and partnership efforts with local non-profit organizations as well as other community organizations. Represents CBTx at community events such as business grand openings, charitable fundraising events and recognition or award banquets.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads programs to increase profitable relations developed through CBTx sponsored travel club. Organizes and coordinates events, group activities, and trips. Frequently travels with travel club members as the CBTx representative or host.
  • Maintains industry contacts to more closely follow industry issues and trends, and to expand professional expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
