Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 5+ years work experience in a fundraising/development role.
  • Knowledge of business development strategies and processes.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. (Writing samples may be requested during the selection process.)
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, interpret and fulfill contract terms and agreements.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment.
  • General knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and constituent relationship management software.
  • Must show initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform basic business/accounting functions -e.g., manage projects and reconcile budgets.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid drivers license.
  • Must be a strong advocate of the USOs mission.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in a non-profit, military, multicultural and/or global organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all stages of new business development, including but not limited to lead qualification, proposal development, presentation, solicitation, contract execution and fulfillment for all assigned corporate prospects.
  • Develop relationships with corporate prospects through networking opportunities, conferences and in-person meetings.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and negotiate contract proposals and agreements, ensuring that all terms and conditions are clearly defined, understood, and approved prior to execution.
  • Ensure that all new business development contact lists, actions, proposals, and activities are promptly recorded in the fundraising software database.
  • Manage and grow a robust pipeline of prospects to meet short and long-term revenue targets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
