About The Position

The Business Development and Marketing Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting firmwide growth initiatives. Working closely with marketing team members, attorneys, and staff, this position helps execute client development and marketing projects. The Coordinator builds a strong understanding of the firm’s services, people, and clients, and delivers high-quality, on-brand materials and research that strengthen client relationships and generate new business opportunities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The position’s essential functions include but are not limited to: Assists in the preparation and tracking of pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and related reports. Maintains the firm’s business development infrastructure—including collateral, experience databases, contact lists, and opportunity tracking—to ensure materials are accurate, consistent, and current. Supports the preparation and submission of rankings, awards, surveys, league tables, and other recognitions for assigned groups. Updates practice and industry information on the firm’s website and intranet. Writes and edits practice and industry group descriptions, lawyer biographies, client presentations, and other materials to support business development pursuits. Conducts research on clients and prospective clients, gathering market and competitive intelligence to deepen understanding of client industries and legal needs. Supports firm visibility through branded collateral, social media, sponsorships, and client events. Provides administrative support for meetings, travel, and department operations. Collaborates across offices and teams to align efforts, share information, and uphold firmwide standards. Performs data-entry and other administrative tasks, including marketing-related expenses and invoices as needed to support department operations. Ability to travel to firm offices and work extended hours during peak proposal or event periods. Other functions as assigned. Management retains the right to add to or change the functions of this position at any time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word (including use of styles), PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Team-oriented and accountable, contributing to a positive firm culture through professionalism, collaboration, and enthusiasm for the work.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Skilled in WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) preferred.
  • Comfortable learning and using a variety of web-based and AI platforms such as JD Supra, Westlaw, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Canva, etc.
  • Comfortable learning and using CRM and ERM platforms such as HubSpot, InterAction, Salesforce, or Foundation.
