About The Position

SoulCycle is seeking a results-driven business development professional with expertise in building and growing a book of business, managing internal and external partners & stakeholders, and planning & executing successful revenue growth strategies. The role is largely focused on prospecting for new business to establish and build new client relationships and partnerships. The ability to nurture client relationships to continuously grow revenue over time is key. The Business Development Manager will primarily be responsible for setting and executing strategies to drive revenue from SoulCycle’s B2B partners. Additional skills will include partner relationship development, actively tracking & managing sales pipeline to drive business performance, account acquisition & management, and project management, among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, detail-oriented, and personable self-starter who as an individual contributor is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to help build and grow an emerging part of the SoulCycle business. This is a high-impact role with the ability to contribute to the growth of SoulCycle’s ridership and revenue, and the candidate must be enthusiastic about communicating the Soul brand to external partners and excited about meeting and exceeding revenue targets. This individual will pre-plan activities, outreach, and communications for each quarter and calendar year, collaborating with teams across SoulCycle to develop and deliver compelling value propositions that will attract and retain corporate clients. This will include staying abreast of SoulCycle’s services, programs, and products as well as trends in the broader wellness industry.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years account management, business development, sales, partnerships, or management consulting experience.
  • A driven, entrepreneurial mindset and appetite to build and scale an emerging business
  • Experience generating leads and managing sales pipelines
  • Comfort and ease with pitching prospective partners and conducting outreach to new clients
  • Demonstrated experience achieving specific revenue target(s) and managing budget expenses accordingly
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior organization and verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to execute quickly and effectively
  • Outstanding customer service skills, plus a friendly professional phone and email etiquette
  • A positive, can-do, team-player attitude
  • Willingness to initiate tasks and perform duties with limited direction

  • Experience/proficiency in using a CRM tool to manage customer relationships is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prospect/Lead Generation
  • Manage a pipeline of prospective partners and business, including identifying & generating leads, conducting outreach, establishing and nurturing relationships, proactively pitching new business, and converting prospects in order to achieve or exceed clear, measurable sales revenue goals.
  • Meet or exceed new partner sign-up and revenue goals on a quarterly basis.
  • Field inbound inquiries for corporate sales at SoulCycle and manage the Soul corporate email account.
  • New Client Onboarding
  • Manage (and optimize as needed) an effective onboarding process and supporting tools for new partners to ensure success post-sale and increase sales with additional follow-up opportunities over time.
  • Collaborate with teams across the SoulCycle organization (including studio operations, scheduling, instructor talent management, technology, and marketing) to deliver a seamless experience for all partners.
  • Project Management
  • Develop, track, and measure specific and actionable KPIs for the sales pipeline, identifying areas of opportunity to enhance the corporate sales program at Soul.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage corporate partner contracts on behalf of SoulCycle, and work with counsel for legal approval as needed.
  • Lead with a growth mindset and identify ways to grow existing relationships and generate new leads from existing partners.
  • Create weekly and monthly forecasts for Finance and Senior Leadership.
  • Create monthly scorecards detailing performance and growth areas for Finance and Senior Leadership.
  • Customer Relationship Management
  • Carefully manage and nurture existing relationships to help grow revenue with existing clients. Develop/implement/leverage CRM systems/practices where appropriate.
  • Partner with studio/field teams to identify local leads that can be grown into larger, at-scale revenue relationships.
  • Partner with studio/field teams to ensure seamless execution of private and group rides.
  • Partner & Client Communications
  • Develop and maintain current and compelling pitch materials that highlight the value of establishing a corporate partnership with SoulCycle.
  • Stay on the pulse of the wellness and boutique fitness industries and share knowledge with existing and prospective partners.
  • Effectively communicate the value of partnering with SoulCycle to deliver value for employees.
  • Plan an annual calendar and accompanying sales/marketing plan in order to effectively communicate with existing and potential partners.
