About The Position

The Business Development Manager drives external revenue growth for the fabrication division by identifying, pursuing, and securing opportunities within vertical construction markets. This individual will proactively build relationships with general contractors, construction managers, developers, and owners while developing and executing a strategic market expansion plan. The position represents the division in the marketplace, generating and qualifying leads, and positioning the organization as a trusted fabrication partner capable of delivering competitive, high-quality solutions. In close collaboration with estimating and operations teams, the Business Development Manager contributes to bid strategy, supports proposal development, and ensures alignment between client expectations and fabrication capabilities. They maintain a strong project pipeline, track performance metrics, provide market intelligence to leadership, and continuously refine pursuit strategy to increase win rates and long-term market presence.

Requirements

  • Proven business development or sales experience within steel fabrication
  • Experience working with AISC certified organizations
  • Strong understanding of project delivery models (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM, etc.)
  • Ability to speak fluently with estimators, project managers, and field leadership
  • Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with comfort building something new
  • Strong financial and contractual acumen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing Tekla (or similar fabrication software) is highly preferred
