About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven and relationship-focused Business Development Manager to lead efforts with a primary focus on the YMCA segment. This role is responsible for generating new revenue by prospecting, building relationships, and closing new business opportunities primarily within the YMCA network, while also supporting additional strategic accounts as needed. This position requires a strong mix of sales execution, strategic territory planning, and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels. The Business Development Manager will serve as a key point of contact for prospective customers, coordinating with internal teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and drive long-term partnership value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, account management, or consultative sales
  • Proven ability to generate new business and manage a full-cycle sales process
  • Strong ability to communicate, present, and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive audiences
  • Experience developing and executing territory plans, pipeline strategy, and sales forecasting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success delivering customer-focused solutions and building long-term partnerships

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of selling in a direct commercial sales environment and / or sales management experience
  • Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
  • Extensive experience in cold calling, prospecting and qualifying leads
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience using Salesforce.com or other CRM tool

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business acquisition with a primary focus on the YMCA segment, while maintaining flexibility to pursue additional strategic opportunities outside of YMCA.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new customer relationships through outbound outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with YMCA leaders, executives, and decision-makers to generate qualified opportunities and close new business.
  • Own the sales cycle from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Develop and maintain an actionable territory/business plan outlining pipeline activity, time allocation, and revenue targets.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Service teams to ensure a strong customer experience and successful solution delivery.
  • Prepare and present customer proposals, including pricing, delivery, service, and leasing options.
  • Represent the company professionally at YMCA events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand visibility and pipeline.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of company products and services and communicate value in a clear, customer-focused way.
  • Proactively manage communication, follow-up, and responsiveness throughout the sales process to drive momentum and trust.
