About The Position

This is a relationship-first business development role, focused on generating and managing commercial plumbing and sprinkler installation opportunities. You’ll be the face of Best Mechanical in the market developing trust with GCs, developers, and owners, and positioning us as the low-risk, high-reliability partner on complex construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who understands the NYC construction landscape and knows that deals are won through credibility, consistency, and follow-through.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development or sales within: Commercial construction Plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, or related trades
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Familiarity with NYC-area construction workflows and decision-makers
  • Comfortable with long sales cycles and complex projects
  • Organized, proactive, and highly professional
  • Someone who takes pride in being a trusted partner—not just a salesperson

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with: General Contractors Developers Building Owners & Construction Managers
  • Identify and pursue new commercial and multi-unit residential projects
  • Get Best Mechanical included on bid lists and invited to job walks
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, industry events, and project walkthroughs
  • Manage opportunities from early conversations through contract award
  • Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and leadership teams
  • Help shape project scopes and proposals during pre-construction
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact throughout the sales process
  • Represent Best Mechanical’s commitment to responsiveness, transparency, and execution
