About The Position

Our client is a growing, design-driven luxury residential construction firm specializing in high-end remodels and custom homes. They are hiring a Business Development & Sales Leader to own and scale the front end of the revenue engine — from first contact through signed pre-construction or design agreements. This role blends relationship-based business development with consultative sales execution . In the near term, you will partner closely with ownership to advance and close opportunities. Over time, this role is expected to evolve into a true sales leader position , owning deals independently and helping build a scalable sales function. This is not a transactional sales role. Success requires patience, credibility, and the ability to guide affluent clients through complex, high-value decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of consultative sales experience in high-value residential construction, design-build, luxury remodeling, architecture, interior design, or luxury real estate
  • Comfort working with affluent, discerning clients and long sales cycles
  • Strong relationship-building and networking capability within the design/construction ecosystem
  • Confidence leading structured consultations and presenting complex proposals
  • High personal accountability and ownership mindset
  • Ability to balance creativity, professionalism, and disciplined execution
  • Create Clarity: Eliminate confusion, set expectations early, and communicate proactively
  • Own the Outcome: Take responsibility for results, not just activity

  • Design or construction fluency is strongly preferred, but sales mastery and credibility matter more than technical depth — technical expertise is supported internally.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with architects, interior designers, luxury realtors, and aligned industry partners
  • Actively network within the local luxury residential and design community
  • Position our client as a trusted design-build partner for high-end projects
  • Create consistent, high-quality touch points (calls, meetings, site visits, coffees, lunches, events)
  • Own the sales process from first contact through signed Design, Pre-Construction, and Construction Agreements
  • Lead qualification calls, consultations, and site visits
  • Clearly communicate process, scope, expectations, and value
  • Present proposals, handle objections, and move clients confidently toward commitment
  • Partner with ownership on select deals today, with full closing responsibility transitioning over time
  • Manage all inbound and outbound leads through HubSpot
  • Respond to 100% of inbound leads within 2 business hours
  • Professionally disqualify non-fit prospects early
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of 3× annual revenue target
  • Ensure 100% CRM accuracy and timely reporting
  • Collaborate with estimating, design, and operations teams to develop accurate proposals
  • Ensure scopes, budgets, and documentation are complete prior to handoff
  • Maintain less than 5% variance between signed agreement and pre-construction estimates
  • Track KPIs, conversion rates, and forecasted revenue
  • Provide weekly pipeline reporting to leadership
  • Collaborate with ownership on pricing strategy, qualification standards, and messaging
  • As the company scales, help standardize sales practices and mentor future sales hires
