About The Position

Culture’s mission is to simplify and accelerate bioprocess development to enable our customers to bring their biopharmaceutical products to market faster. With a focus on upstream cell culture process development, Culture has developed a unique platform that merges products, services and data management that can be applied to mammalian, microbial and viral vector production processes. This platform enables high-throughput process development projects to be rapidly and seamlessly executed directly by our customers in their own facilities, in our service laboratories, or both, all driven by our cloud-connected web application, accessible from anywhere, for designing, managing and analyzing experiments. The Opportunity Culture Biosciences is looking for a Business Development Manager to join our growing team. You will be responsible for business development efforts for our services and equipment business. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Commercial.

Requirements

You have 8+ years of experience selling life sciences equipment, consumables, services, research collaborations, and software products, to biopharma or biotech companies.
Ideally, you have experience selling upstream bioprocessing services, equipment and technology
You have strong analytical skills with the ability to create data-driven business cases and pitches.
You are an excellent communicator and have strong emotional intelligence.
You are self motivating and work well independently
You’re an adept collaborator and able to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders that enable productive, commercial relationships.
You’re an agile thinker who is excited to learn as much as possible about the capabilities of Culture’s technology and services.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a related scientific or engineering field. In lieu of this degree, you have experience in biotechnology and bioprocessing that will enable you to get up to speed on bioprocessing technology and science.

Nice To Haves

Strong practical working knowledge and experience with cloud-connected productivity and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspaces.
Demonstrable familiarity with AI tools and platforms such as Gemini, CoPilot, ChatGPT etc.
Formal training and experience in key/strategic account management

Responsibilities

Connect with biotechnology and biopharma companies to identify opportunities to sell Culture’s platform.
Construct and present proposals and structured deals to prospective clients highlighting Culture’s platform as an opportunity to meet their specific needs.
Drive these opportunities from initial exploration through the entire sales process to business closure, and after-sales support.
Learn everything you can about Culture’s technologies and services in order to identify and qualify opportunities.
Build, maintain and manage a healthy pipeline of business opportunities. Diligently use the company CRM to keep information about all opportunities, activities, accounts and end users up to date.
Work with your teammates and cross functionally to build a culture of collaboration, reliability, and innovation.
Execute the Go to Market strategic and marketing plans. Diligent and timely qualification of marketing generated leads.
Identify potential technology collaborations with end user customers and other technology companies that could add value to Culture’s platform and business model. Work closely with internal teams to drive these opportunities.
Attend and participate in trade shows and conferences, including set-up and pack-up duties as may be needed.
Organize and lead key events in your territory to network with the biotech community and generate leads and prospects.
Work closely with any external commercial partners to support their business development activities associated with the Culture platform.
