About The Position

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth of production chemical sales to the oil and gas market. This role focuses on identifying and developing new business opportunities while building relationships with key decision-makers in upstream operations and engineering. In addition, this position will provide client-focuses customer service and relationship management.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Ability to build strong relationships and provide solutions to both current and potential customers
  • Must have 5 or more years in sales and or business development experience in oil & gas
  • Previous experience in chemical sales, oilfield services, or production operations
  • Commitment to a collaborative work environment and a strong service orientation
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) and PC Skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 50% within assigned territory
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science/engineering or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation Identify and qualify new business opportunities within oil and gas production companies, focusing on operators, service companies, and production facilities
  • Research target accounts to understand their production challenges, chemical programs, and operational needs
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects through face-to-face sales calls, networking, and digital outreach
  • Leverage industry knowledge to identify companies experiencing production issues that our chemical solutions can address
  • Relationship Building Develop relationships with production engineers, operations managers, and procurement professionals at target accounts
  • Conduct discovery calls and site visits to understand customer pain points related to scale, corrosion, paraffin deposition, emulsion issues, and other production challenges
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between prospects and technical sales team members
  • Maintain regular communication with prospects throughout extended sales cycles typical in the oil and gas industry
  • Sales Support & Collaboration Partner with Management, District personnel and technical service to establish client pricing and transition qualified opportunities
  • Coordinate RFQ’s/tenders, technical presentations, and chemical performance testing
  • Support proposal development by gathering customer requirements and operational data
  • Prepare and present business proposals, negotiate contracts, and close opportunities.
  • Track all activities and opportunities with detailed notes on customer needs and competitive landscape
  • Market Intelligence Stay informed about mergers and acquisitions, new drilling activities, and operational challenges in assigned territory along with oil and gas production trends
  • Monitor competitor activities and positioning in the market
  • Provide feedback to product development and marketing teams on customer needs and market gaps
  • Attend industry events to build network and identify opportunities
