About The Position

The Business Development Manager drives Narrative’s growth by identifying, pursuing, and winning new business opportunities. This individual will shape proposals, project plans, presentations, and other core products—ensuring they are strategic, compelling, and tailored to each prospect, while meeting all associated requirements. The Business Development Manager will also play a central role in how Narrative showcases its capabilities and evolves its approach over time. This position offers room to think creatively, operate with autonomy, and meaningfully shape the quality of our work. This individual will collaborate closely with senior leaders who provide final guidance and approvals, and the impact of this role will be visible across revenue growth, pipeline strength, win rates, and overall business expansion.

  • Continuously elevate the quality, clarity, and customization of all business development materials.
  • Extract meaningful insights from the pipeline and translate them into proactive targeting and strategic opportunities.
  • Strengthen Narrative’s competitiveness by ensuring each proposal builds on lessons from previous efforts.
  • Analyze and contribute to understanding why we win or lose—and help the team adapt based on clear, actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Proposal/Pitch Development – Draft, refine, and elevate written content that meets the expectations of sophisticated clients across a variety of industries. This includes managing communications with prospective clients throughout the proposal process and overseeing senior review of all deliverables to ensure final products reflect Narrative’s highest standards and best thinking.
  • Pipeline Operations, Analysis & Continuous Improvement – Maintain and present pipeline data to inform decision‑making and strategic planning, including identifying emerging trends and gathering/interpreting prospect feedback.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Quality Control – coordinate inputs across teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality solutions to prospective clients.
  • Team Development – provide direction, mentorship, and support to junior team members working on proposals or pipeline operations, and model clear communication, high standards, and a culture of ongoing improvement across the team
