About The Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth within the construction vertical by leading strategic sales initiatives and developing strong relationships with key end-users, distributors, and channel partners. The Business Development Manager will execute targeted account plans, cold calling campaigns, and partnership strategies to generate new demand and expand existing accounts. You will serve as the subject matter expert for the construction industry, staying ahead of market trends, identifying growth opportunities, and guiding internal teams on portfolio relevance. With substantial influence over sales strategy and execution, this position provides high visibility and the potential for career advancement while contributing directly to organizational growth. Collaboration with product management and inside sales teams ensures alignment with company objectives and market needs. The role requires travel, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate market insights into actionable sales results.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven success in business development or sales targeting end-users, with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Experience in the construction industry or related sectors preferred.
  • Established relationships with large construction-focused companies is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel 40–60% of the time.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools (Salesforce.com preferred).
  • Self-motivated, driven, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced sales environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies for construction industry end-users to achieve revenue targets.
  • Drive brand preference and end-user specification at large construction companies, general contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Establish and execute account plans for targeted accounts while identifying opportunities for expansion.
  • Align sales strategies with global business objectives, creating both short- and long-term success plans.
  • Partner with product management to identify value propositions for offerings within target verticals.
  • Execute targeted call campaigns and collaborate with inside sales to penetrate new accounts.
  • Provide training and guidance to manufacturing sales reps and channel partners on construction market opportunities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the construction vertical, tracking trends and identifying areas of outsized growth.
