About The Position

The Business Development Lead identifies and pursues new business opportunities, builds key relationships, and enhances our brand visibility. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on market engagement, driving business growth and representing the company at industry events.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction, civil engineering, or materials industries.
  • Strong understanding of commercial sitework, paving, or related services.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-driven mindset.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and project management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth & Market Development
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue in commercial and private sitework markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership and estimating teams to ensure alignment.
  • Brand Representation & Outreach
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, networking functions, and client meetings.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications teams to strengthen brand presence.
  • Relationship Building & Client Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, developers, contractors, and industry partners.
  • Serve as the main contact for major clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
  • Monitor industry trends, competitors, and customer needs to inform strategy.
  • Provide regular market reports and forecasts for leadership.
  • Collaboration & Lead Generation
  • Work with internal teams (estimating, operations) to generate and qualify leads and support project pursuits.
  • Financial & Performance Reporting
  • Manage business development budgets and resources.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and pipeline status.
