About The Position

We're is seeking a Business Development Intern to support our growth efforts during Spring/Summer 2026. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is interested in consulting, sales, market research, and relationship-driven business development. This role will work closely with our business development leadership to support pipeline-building efforts, research target markets and companies, identify prospective opportunities, and help manage outbound outreach activities. It is a strong fit for someone who is organized, proactive, curious, and comfortable doing foundational work that helps turn strategy into action.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in business development, sales, partnerships, or growth strategy
  • Clear written communication skills and professional judgment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized across multiple tasks
  • Comfort with research, synthesis, and administrative follow-through
  • Ability to work independently while staying connected to a small team
  • Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Excel or Google Sheets, and presentation tools is helpful

Nice To Haves

  • Current undergraduate student or recent graduate
  • Background or coursework in business, marketing, communications, economics, management, or a related field
  • Prior internship, campus leadership, sales, or customer-facing experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Research companies, industries, and prospective clients aligned with Ampersand’s focus areas
  • Build and maintain prospect lists and support pipeline tracking
  • Identify potential client, partner, and market opportunities
  • Support outbound outreach efforts across email, LinkedIn, and other business development channels
  • Help organize follow-up activity, notes, and next steps related to business development conversations
  • Conduct account research to support meetings, proposals, and opportunity development
  • Assist with light competitive and market research to inform growth strategy
  • Help maintain clean, organized business development materials and records
