About The Position

Sheppard, a global Am Law 50 firm, has created a new Business Development and Marketing Manager role to support its Real Estate, Energy, and Land Use & Environmental practices, as well as key industry teams including Energy & Infrastructure, Digital Infrastructure & Data Centers, Multifamily, ESG & Sustainability, and Cannabis. In this role, the Manager will work closely with the Director of Business Development & Marketing and collaborate with attorneys and practice leaders to deliver high-impact business development and marketing strategies aligned with the firm’s growth priorities. The role in action: Drive practice growth by partnering with attorneys and key stakeholders to plan and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives and support lateral partner integration. Lead pitch and proposal initiatives, delivering targeted RFPs, client presentations, and marketing collateral with clear, competitive messaging. Increase market presence by implementing strong marketing plans and coordinating thought leadership, content development, rankings, awards submissions, and other profile-raising initiatives. Leverage data to inform strategy by analyzing market trends, client activity, and CRM insights to identify growth opportunities, track performance, and measure impact. Plan and deliver high-impact client events, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities, while managing budgets, timelines, and post-event reporting.

Requirements

  • Bring 5+ years of experience in business development or marketing within a law firm or other professional services setting; experience in real estate or energy is preferred.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills while managing multiple projects in support of business growth initiatives.
