We’re looking for Business Developers in our Houston, TX office who are driven, solution-oriented, and ready to take our business-to-business agency sales team to the next level. As a Business Developer, you will deliver strategic sales initiatives with a defined territory of agencies and build their book of GEICO business through approved underwriting practices. Business Developers will use their strong ability to influence, along with analytical and decision-making skills to provide guidance and support that promotes preference for GEICO products and services. This role acts as a subject matter expert of product lines and systems to provide recommendations that improve customer experience, sales closure, and retention with new and existing customers in the business-to-business space. Business Developers help their agencies achieve sales targets through actionable goal setting and understanding of their business needs. Requirements

  • 3 years of relevant experience (Insurance, B2B, or Consulting)
  • Prior experience working with different lines of insurance (Property & Casualty - Personal Auto, Home, Recreational Lines, Commercial Auto/Trucking)
  • Highly effective oral and written communicator – must be comfortable presenting, persuading, and networking through multiple channels (in-person, virtually, over the phone, etc.)
  • Ability to work individually and as a team collaborator with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience interpreting and analyzing data to make informed decisions that support growth initiatives
  • Knowledge of industry changes, technology, and desire for continued learning
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience with caseload management and customer follow-up (Claims experience a plus)
  • Prior experience working with independent insurance agents
