About The Position

OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology. Responsibilities and Duties OCT currently has an opening for a mid level data architect/developer to work with our federal client. You will work in a team that will be expected to provide support in the areas of change management and communications; strategic planning and analysis; business transformation and initiative management; process and performance improvement; and project management strategic planning, analysis, and governance. This position is contingent upon contract award.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field with 7 years of experience OR Master’s degree or higher in these fields with 5 years of experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)/DHS mid-level PM/Six Sigma MBB certification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience providing support to USCG, or other Government agencies supporting missions related to national security, homeland security, or law enforcement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Python, SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Office 365, and SharePoint.
  • Expertise in data-analytics design.
  • Ability to develop conceptual and logical data models.
  • Ability to map data management workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating multiple projects spanning multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated experience critically analyzing complex problems across multiple organizations.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented working style.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in support of senior government stakeholders.
  • Ability to pass a federal security investigation; the investigation will involve a credit, fingerprint, and law enforcement agency check.
  • Ability to work onsite at the government facility in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Modernize and sustain the organization’s Microsoft-Access-based tools to improve structural integrity, performance, and long-term viability.
  • Develop conceptual and logical data models for database assets.
  • Map and streamline existing data-management workflows, recommend and implement efficiencies.
  • Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data-analytics design.
  • Execute targeted Structured Query Language (SQL), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for Office and formatting updates to accommodate source-data changes and ad-hoc reporting needs.
  • Provide day-to-day query support, data calls, and troubleshooting for PSC users.
  • Support testing and performance measurement activities.
  • Advise on software deployment.
  • Update and maintain dashboards.
  • Support projects in the area of change management and performance measurement, as needed.
  • Ensure financial/controls compliance across projects.
  • Integrate multi-system solutions.
  • Deliver executive coaching as needed.
