Job Summary Supports the operational efficiency of the Pharmacy Department by coordinating fiscal management activities, performing data analysis, and maintaining departmental statistics and reports. Responsible for developing, preparing, and maintaining quality data analytics that will be utilized by leadership and management across various settings and promote new opportunities for the organization, thus enhancing efficiency and resulting in optimal revenue. Data base development, project management, cost accounting, and IT skills will be employed to work with clinical pharmacists, residents, medical staff, and pharmacy administration. Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or Information Technology.
  • Experience - Two (2) years of related experience.
  • Experience in data models and reporting packages required.
  • Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to create actionable insights from large datasets.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets to interpret, draw conclusions and resolve issues from audits to benefit the organization as a whole required
  • Ability to develop creative solutions or find new angles to solve familiar opportunities to improve the departments processes we support required
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare operations required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or pharmacy preferred.
  • Experience with quality and safety metrics in healthcare or pharmacy operations preferred.
  • Experience in data analysis, quality improvement, and/or healthcare planning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Publish quality analytics to include weekly or monthly dashboards, productivity, ad-hoc projects, and/or KPI used by directors and managers to improve processes and maintain a pulse of daily operations. Emphasis on development and maintenance of operational reports.
  • Maintain system databases to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications. Assure appropriate safeguards and system integrity.
  • Define new data collection and analysis processes. Incorporate industry benchmarks to illustrate baseline metrics and current state when publishing charts, graphs, pivot tables and other diagrams.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and develop data extracts needed to identify weakness and opportunities that will enhance patient satisfaction, organizational growth and net revenue.
  • Support Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee functions by providing financial data to be used in the drug evaluation process, including opportunities for therapeutic interchange of medications.
  • Assist with monitoring compliance with 340B program requirements of qualified patients, drugs, providers, vendors, payers, and locations.
  • Medication Safety and Quality Analytics: Develop and publish quality analytics that include medication safety metrics (e.g., adverse drug events, near misses and event trends, medication reconciliation compliance, and timely access to medications) and operational key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve medication use processes.
  • Monitor ordering processes, integrating most current pricing from wholesaler, analyze invoices, shipping, and inventory processes. Assure that billing procedures performed by the department are accurate and timely.
