About The Position

The Business Applications Administrator (BA Admin) is a hands‑on, technology‑focused role responsible for implementing, supporting, and continuously improving business applications used across a media organization. These applications support core functions such as content operations, advertising and sales, finance, and corporate services. Partnering closely with business analysts, technical teams, vendors, and end users, the BA Admin translates approved business and functional requirements into secure, reliable, and well‑supported application solutions. This role is well‑suited for a mid‑level professional who is comfortable working in technical environments and understands the unique operational demands of the media and entertainment industry, including time‑sensitive workflows, vendor‑hosted platforms, and cross‑functional dependencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience supporting, configuring, or administering business applications.
  • Hands‑on experience working in technology‑driven environments, particularly those relying on vendor‑hosted or SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with ITSM processes and tools such as Jira, Halo or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with SDLC and project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

  • Experience working in the media, entertainment, advertising, or broadcast industry.
  • Experience supporting systems related to content operations, advertising sales, finance, or rights/asset management.
  • Familiarity with cloud‑based platforms and third‑party vendor ecosystems common in media organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, test, and support enterprise business applications supporting media operations, advertising, finance, and corporate functions.
  • Own day‑to‑day application operations, including incident resolution, defect remediation, and enhancement delivery.
  • Coordinate system upgrades, vendor releases, integrations, and patches across custom, third‑party, SaaS‑based platforms.
  • Support multiple application environments (production, test, training, development) in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Participate in post‑implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, usability, and scalability.
  • Partner with business analysts who own business requirements and process design, providing technical and application expertise during solution delivery.
  • Serve as an application subject matter expert (SME) for platforms that support operational workflows.
  • Act as a liaison between technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are technically sound and operationally ready.
  • Clearly communicate system capabilities, limitations, risks, and impacts where timing and accuracy matter.
  • Manage application change requests in accordance with established change control processes, recognizing the potential impact on go-live or time‑sensitive business operations.
  • Administer user access, roles, and permissions; ensure segregation of duties and audit readiness across business‑critical systems.
  • Support internal controls, compliance requirements, and security best practices related to application access and configuration.
  • Maintain application inventories, documentation, and vendor/license information for a diverse portfolio of media‑related platforms.
  • Execute and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) in partnership with business analysts and end users.
  • Document configurations, workflows, and support procedures for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Contribute to knowledgebase articles, user guides, and training materials to support adoption and operational continuity.
  • Assist with or deliver training for system enhancements and new functionality.
