About the Role We are building the next generation of clinical and affordability insights and we are looking for a thoughtful, innovative leader to help shape the future. In this role, you will design and deliver trend analysis capabilities that reveal the true drivers of healthcare cost and affordability across Cigna Healthcare. You will turn complex claims and non‑claims data into clear insights that influence strategy, improve engagement, and support smarter decisions. You will bring curiosity, expertise, and optimism to the work—partnering across clinical, financial, and technical teams to create solutions that make healthcare more affordable and sustainable. Responsibilities Lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑level clinical risk and affordability indicators that strengthen the Cigna Healthcare Risk Ecosystem and inform cost‑of‑care strategy. Translate complex clinical, claims, and trend research into compelling insights that guide business action and executive decision‑making. Uncover and explain relationships between key cost and clinical drivers, including authorizations, diagnostic categories, episodes of care, and utilization patterns. Partner closely with clinical, financial, and operational stakeholders to build meaningful analytics capabilities, performance indicators, and decision tools. Apply advanced analytics, predictive models, and AI techniques to evaluate member‑level data and develop new methods for anomaly detection and risk identification. Influence affordability outcomes by enhancing predictive capabilities that identify savings opportunities and engagement strategies. Monitor and evaluate external data sources to inform trend narratives, projections, and long-term affordability planning. Leverage large, complex datasets by collaborating with data engineering, technology, and visualization teams to deliver scalable, high‑impact solutions. Recruit, develop, and lead a high‑performing team of analytical innovators, fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning. Qualifications Required Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of experience in data analytics, actuarial science, predictive modeling, or a related discipline, with demonstrated impact in healthcare or a similarly complex environment. At least 2 years of people leadership experience, with a proven ability to inspire performance and develop analytical talent. Strong expertise at the intersection of clinical data and predictive techniques, with hands‑on experience using tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, Alteryx, or similar platforms. Solid understanding of key clinical data concepts, including CPTs, DRGs, service categories, and episodes of care. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex analyses to senior leaders and diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated success leading and influencing in a matrixed organization through collaboration rather than authority. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or professional training in analytics, healthcare, or related fields is a plus. Deep familiarity with U.S. healthcare dynamics, including provider data, claims data, health plan performance, cost drivers, and quality objectives. Experience shaping enterprise analytics strategies or risk ecosystems that influence affordability and care delivery decisions. A leadership style that promotes accountability, innovation, and a high‑performance, purpose‑driven culture.
