As a Business Analytics Lead within PNC's Balance Sheet Analytics & Modeling Marketing & Customer Analytics organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Tysons Corner, VA. This position is primarily based in a PNC location. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. As a Business Analytics Lead, you will join a newly formed team dedicated to supporting our Consumer and Small Business deposit marketing programs. Your work will directly influence how we attract new customers, optimize campaign performance, and demonstrate the value of marketing investments. In this role, you will design experiments, measure campaign performance, find insights to power actionable recommendations, and use a variety of analytical techniques to power the future growth of PNC Marketing. We are seeking a sharp, analytical thinker with expertise in marketing analytics—someone who can connect marketing campaigns to business results and help shape the future of deposit marketing at PNC.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in analytics with a strong background in direct response marketing.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related).
  • Experience with statistical testing methodologies and A/B testing (control groups, statistical significance, multivariate testing)
  • Strong technical proficiency in: SQL, Python (JupyerHub Notebooks), Hadoop, and dashboarding tools (Tableau/Power BI)
  • Experience with cohort/vintage analysis, multi-touch attribution, meta-analysis, list segmentation strategies, and incrementality measurement .
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate data results into actionable recommendations which improve PNC Marketing.
  • Highly motivated, eager to learn new analytical concepts, and willing to take ownership of projects to drive results.
  • Strategic thinker with vision and a collaborative approach to working with team and business partners.
  • Leads the analytics processes across multiple functions or business units leveraging an array of complex analytical tools to create data driven solutions.
  • Serves as mentor to more junior employees.
  • Consults with clients and mentors consultants on tool and strategy implementation and monitoring, statistical scoring, business intelligence, data quality, and analytical product / solution development.
  • Determining the optimal analytic approach and supporting development, implementation and enhancements.
  • Assists peers with guidance on analytic approaches related to more complex solutions.
  • Conceptualizing, developing and continuously optimizing analytical solutions for business leadership to enable data driven decision making.
  • Analyze results and make recommendations for key business partners and senior management or communicate conclusions from complex analytical solutions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Marketing Analytics: Lead analytics for direct mail and direct response campaigns including test design, audience selection, campaign measurement, and insight generation.
  • Experimental Design: Develop campaign test designs with holdout groups, synthetic control groups, or other test design methodologies to enable accurate incrementality analysis.
  • Cohort and Vintage Analysis: Monitor the quality and longevity of acquired customers using cohort and vintage analysis techniques.
  • Dashboards & Reporting: Create modern dashboards (Tableau preferred, Power BI acceptable) to track campaign performance, customer acquisition, and business quality.
  • Attribution: Run match-back analysis and different attribution techniques to properly handle conversions across channels.
  • Strategic Thinking: Move beyond descriptive reporting to provide prescriptive insights with actionable recommendations to power future growth for marketing team.
  • Communication: Present complex analytical results with recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
