The Position Kaufman Hall is seeking a Business Analyst to help support the development of our software products. Our products help our clients improve operational and billing processes, driving incremental financial benefit, and demonstrate high quality of care. In support of ongoing product development, this individual would be responsible for supporting the development process by building, maintaining, and managing a workstream-specific software development backlog in collaboration with product team leaders and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in computer science, business, or related field.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the software development field including prior hands-on experience as a business analyst.
  • Experience with requirements gathering and product management.
  • Experience working with customer-facing web applications.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity working with applications using the following frameworks, languages, and tooling: SQL, .NET/C#, Angular/Typescript, MS Power Apps, MS Power Automate, MS Power BI.
  • Familiarity with the Agile software development life cycle, testing cycles, and dev ops processes.
  • Understanding of web application standards and usage patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail oriented, responsive, and able to prioritize several tasks.
  • Self-motivated, works well independently and with others.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product leaders and subject-matter experts to identify workflows, document detailed requirements, maintain product backlogs, and build sprint/iteration plans in coordination with other product team members.
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements for software development, identifying common workflows, constraints, assumptions, and dependencies.
  • Work with engineering to document technical requirements.
  • Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements to ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
  • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
  • Gather feedback from clients, internal and external, to determine ongoing opportunities for improving our software solutions.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all UAT aspects of releases, providing UAT services and coordinating feedback.
  • Partner with QA to explain application functionality, desired outcomes, and collaborate on effective test plans.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with colleagues throughout the organization to ensure that work is processed in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies.
