About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Business Analyst Intern to support the Government Accountability Office (GAO) Technology Information Services (TIS) Managed Services Implementation Program. The intern will be embedded within the program management office (PMO), supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of a structured, phased transition across multiple managed service workstreams spanning GAO's enterprise IT environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing, building, and maintaining Microsoft Project schedules tracking tasks, milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies across all nine workstreams
  • Support SAFe® Agile planning activities including helping decompose Epics into Features and User Stories within Kanban boards aligned to Program Increments (PIs) using Weighted Shortest Job First (WSJF) prioritization
  • Assist in drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across service transition workstreams, coordinating with the four-phase SOP development and harmonization roadmap
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the program Risk Register, documenting risks, mitigation strategies, likelihood, consequence, and owner assignments across all nine service areas
  • Assist in SLA/XLA baselining and tracking, supporting the program's four-phase SLA-to-XLA transformation journey and helping prepare unified performance dashboards
  • Support preparing materials for weekly Sprint/Status meetings, monthly Executive Steering Committee briefings, monthly Change Advisory Board meetings, and bi-weekly PI Planning meetings
  • Support testing coordination and Readiness Review preparation activities prior to each workstream's Transition to Managed Service milestone
  • Assist in capturing and documenting lessons learned throughout the transition in alignment with the program's continuous improvement framework
