Acts as assistant to the Business Operations Manager in the overall management of the Business Office for the Division of Engineering & supervises staff

Requirements

  • 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in accounting & auditing or business management.
  • OR completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting or business management AND 2 yrs. exp. in accounting or business management.
  • OR 12 mos. exp. as Business Administrator 1, 63315.
  • OR 2 yrs. exp. as Business Services Officer, 63311.
  • -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees & assists with the monitoring, maintaining & implementation of the capital/operating budget
  • Approves statistical reports & financial statements for distribution including capital cash projections
  • Prepares, plans, implements, monitors & reviews capital allocation plans, expenditures & assessment methods to ensure effective financial reporting for a variety of state &/or federal financial reports
  • Reviews proposed legislation &/or policy changes to determine financial impact & establishes budget procedures in line with legislative/policy requirements
  • Prepares, analyzes, maintains &/or oversees preparation & maintenance of variety of fiscal &/or budgetary reports, records, studies &/or correspondence (e.g., fiscal accounting reports, payroll projections, budget outlay projections, prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual financial reports, analyzes division expense for budgetary needs progress reports & funding information)
  • Trains, confers & advises managers concerning budget preparation, spending & equipment/personnel needs
